Today is April 15th, the day to file your income taxes in the United States. Thanks to my fabulous accountant and an automatic two-month filing extension for non-resident citizens, I wouldn’t be hurried nor late today except for the fact that my last post to this blog was almost one month ago.

The last few weeks since our departure for Seattle have been a blur. The flight, the jet lag, the Mountain, the Emerald City, our return to Berlin, the jet lag, an anticipated legal battle with our landlords—finding time to write has not been easy. Fortunately, I have been forced to take another route to work everyday on the U2 subway due to a construction project. The alternative route takes longer, which has given me more time to scribble down my thoughts and transpose the notes I made in my log book.

I apologize for my silence. I realize that a few cryptic tweets are not enough.

I also apologize for failing to update this blog in a more timely manner with news about my trip to Rainier. I will start publishing my posts today.

Distance from the Mountain and its tormenting, overhanging presence in the backdrop landscape of a nearly cloudless Seattle skyline the week after the winter seminar with RMI has given me more perspective. I’m not quite through with the five stages of grief, but I’m making slow progress.

May you enjoy my tales about the experience.

Rock on!
